My Love for fashion has been long lasting and passionate. Intensely concerned with design as an art from, I draw my inspiration from history, fantasy and beauty itself.

I started my professional career as an Actuary, with a Master’s degree in actuarial Science from Temple University, Philadelphia. My underlying love for designing led me to hone my technical knowledge by pursuing course in fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York.

My label is Rajnish Malhotra. In the past few years I have been holding exhibitions and participating in Bridal shows in New York and some other major cities in USA. The label is known for its East-meets-West sensibility, fusing traditional Indian motifs with sleek, modern looks.

Having dabbled in organizing/participating of exhibition/shows and catering to my private clientele, I feel I am ready to officially launch my label in the ‘Dubai Fashion Week’.

My collection for Spring/summer 2010 is an Evening wear collection (upper bridge) diffusion line. The collection is named “ NOSTALGIA” as it is inspired by the timeless glamour of the bollywood fashion scene from the late 70’s and 80’s.

The collection exudes an overall romantic feel which is rich, luxurious, elegant  and sophisticated.  The styling although classic is very contemporary.

Juggling different textures silks, satins, chiffons, brocades and a delicate use of traditional zardozi embroidery with swarovski crystals, has enabled me to capture the old world glamour and femininity into my collection.
